AFRICAN HERITAGE SERIES

In honor of MLK, Jr, theater director Mical Whitaker has assembled local artists and the area’s most distinctive voices to bring to life the words of poets Langston Hughes, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Maya Angelou, and Jill Scott among others. The evening will be an inspirational fusion of music and spoken word performances. Created especially for the Averitt’s Whitaker Black Box Theater, the evening will be an inspirational multi-media fusion of images, music, and spoken word performances.
